Recently we spoke with the Event Resources team about their 25 years in the event planning and production business and their investment in the Hartford Region. Below is an excerpt from our conversation.

Please tell us a bit about Event Resources.

Event Resources is a stalwart special event production company in southern New England. Since 1989 we’ve produced a multitude of major galas, fundraisers and awards shows, corporate events and countless high school and college graduations – as well as the past six Governor’s Inaugurals. We do everything from scaled and detailed site plans, budgeting, schedules and renderings to onsite event implementation with creativity and innovation.“’Worry Free Events’ is more than a tagline to us,” Event Resources President Arnold Berman noted. “It’s a promise to our clients.”What makes Event Resources unique?

“Our exceptionally creative and dedicated employees are the key to the success of our client’s events and our company.” Berman added.  “Creating a special event involves many people with different skills: set and stage design; sound, lighting, and video; budgeting and more. Our team designs and executes every event from concept right through to ‘curtains down’ with a focus on excellence.”Our strong commitment to clients and the local event industry has driven us to expand beyond event design and production and into thought leadership. Every month we create and distribute an informative newsletter to over 2,000 people in the industry. We also create dozens of “how-to” guides and hold educational events throughout the year. Recently we partnered with Infinity Hall on an event featuring David Adler, the CEO and Founder of BizBash, a national event industry icon. Two hundred event planners attended.Which of your organization’s accomplishments make you especially proud?

After 25+ years and over 12,000 events, we’re proud to be an integral part of the community. We enjoy working with so many different companies and organizations that have relied on our services for many years.

The Event Resources team has helped nonprofits raise tens of millions of dollars through fundraising galas and award events, we’ve created great fanfare for thousands of high school and college graduates at commencement ceremonies, we’ve helped businesses move their organizations forward through meeting and conferences, and we’ve officially honored our military going to and returning from service deployments.

But it’s not only about the big events. We’re happy to provide a small sound system or risers for a presentation, a handicap ramp to make a stage accessible, or temporary fencing for an outdoor festival. We strive to serve any organization that needs event assistance.

With more than 25 years of event production experience, you must have some great memories. Can you share some of your favorite moments with us?

“I have fond memories of our very first large project in 1989: First Night Hartford,” Berman recalled. “Back then, music was recorded on cassette tapes, we communicated via fax, and we had an answering service to pick up telephone calls.  Since then we’ve grown and advanced along with modern technology.  Now we couldn’t survive without mobile phones and email – and technologies like digital sound, HD projection, custom stage design, and live streaming are bringing special events to a whole new level.”

Why does Event Resources invest in the MetroHartford Alliance?

As a locally based company with headquarters in East Hartford, we believe in investing in the Hartford area’s economy and people – as does the Alliance. We know the Alliance’s excellent efforts positively affect the strength of our region every day, in many sectors and directions.

How does your organization currently engage with the Alliance?

We have proudly produced many events for the Alliance, including the Annual Celebration and the Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services Cluster’s Insurance Market Summit. We read the Daily Brief and post our news and events in the Alliance’s online Newsroom and Events Calendar. We also appreciate the value of networking with, and introductions to, other Alliance members.
